What I'd tell myself before starting Pagsun
Aug 2026
Hindsight is a cheap teacher if you're willing to actually listen to it. A few things I'd tell myself on day one.
Revenue first, polish second
Early on I spent too long making the first version of things "right" before anyone had paid for them. A rough version in front of a paying client teaches you more in a week than a polished version sitting in a repo teaches you in a month.
Say no to the wrong-shaped client early
Every services business takes on at least one client that's a bad fit, usually because the revenue looks good on paper. The cost shows up later, in the team's time and morale, and it's almost always more expensive than the invoice was worth.
Write things down before you think you need to
The first time I actually documented a process was after the third person asked me the same question. It should have been the first time.
